Features

The standard feature set for the Ranger is smaller than some other trucks, but the optional set is more extensive and more appealing. For example, a rear camera, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking are the only standard driver assistance features. Still, many more are available in packages or higher trims, like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Trims

The Ranger has two cab sizes, two-bed lengths, three trims, a large set of cosmetic packages, towing add-ons, and other improvements. Note that the cabs and beds are not interchangeable--the larger cab has the smaller bed, and vice versa. The three trims are the XL, XLT, and Lariat.

The XL has the standard feature set and an option to upgrade the tech suite significantly. The XLT trim has that upgrade standard, additional driver assistance features, and a broader set of possible packages. The Lariat trim rolls some of the options on the lower trims into its features, like a household outlet. It also has some luxury features like leather upholstery and parking lighting. All trims have their own unique set of packages.
